Beth Orton is back with a new album, Sugaring Season, her first since 2006’s Comfort of Strangers, due out on October 2 via ANTI-. As BV points out, the record was produced by Tucker Martine (My Morning Jacket, The Decemberists) and features contributions from Marc Ribot, Sam Amidon, and more. Check out the LPs’ lead single “Something More Beautiful” at the bottom of this post.

Beth is set to kick off a tour in support of Sugaring Season in September, which arrives at Chicago’s Athenaeum Theatre on October 8. Tickets go on sale this Friday (7/27) at noon CST, and album guest Sam Amidon will be opening the show.
