Big Ups released an LP, playing Cobra Lounge on spring tour (dates, LP stream)

big-ups-band

NYC post-hardcore outfit Big Ups welcomed their caustic debut LP, Eighteen Hours of Static, last month via Dead Labor/Tough Love. It’s a snarling, in-your-face effort but also manages to contain some somber moments too. You can take a listen to the album at the bottom of this post. The music video for the LP cut “Goes Black” can also be found below.

Big Ups will be embarking on a spring US tour surrounding their appearance(s) at SXSW 2014. Many of their dates are with Speedy Ortiz and Pile, but they’ll also play a few shows on their own–one of those is a performance at Cobra Lounge on March 19. Ticketing information for the Chicago show is forthcoming, but check Cobra Lounge’s calendar for updates.

All Big Ups dates, a stream of their new LP, and the music video for “Goes Black” lie after the jump…
