Hyde Park Jazz Fest this weekend, and sooner too

Hyde Park

“Rarely has a Chicago musical institution grown as dramatically and impressively as the Hyde Park Jazz Festival.

What started as a one-day event five years ago will double in duration this weekend, bringing top-notch musicians to first-rate venues across the neighborhood. But that’s just part of the story of this festival’s blossoming.

Thanks to the creativity and entrepreneurial savvy of its planners, the fest will include additional, preliminary events Wednesday through Friday; multiple appearances by the event’s first artist-in-residence, Chicago saxophonist Geof Bradfield; screenings of rare jazz films; and other innovations.” [Chicago Tribune]
