Greys at Swerp Mansion on 4.06.2013
On Saturday night (4/6), Toronto’s Greys and Philly’s Dangerous Ponies, who both just completed North American tours of their own, crossed paths at Swerp Mansion for a show with locals My Dad and Truman & His Trophy.
Left-field indie poppers Truman & His Trophy opened the show, and then Greys shook things up with their pummeling, abrasive output. The quartet played an unbelievably tight set to the small crowd who showed up early to see them. Their performance featured all three tracks from their recent Drift EP, and we can’t wait to hear what’s in store for their forthcoming full-length. Anthemic pop rockers Dangerous Ponies were up next, and got the crowd moving with their infectious material. Swerp Records act My Dad headlined, and added an additional drummer to their crew for the night, bringing the grand total to three drummers. It was quite a feat, and their mathy pop only benefitted from the mass of percussion.
A set of pictures from the 4/6 show at Swerp Mansion are in this post. More below…
