Neon Marshmallow Music Festival returns to Chicago
Neon Marshmallow is an international experimental music festival that was created and curated by Daniel Smith & Matthew Kimmel in 2010.
The event focuses on a wide variety of electronic and electro-acoustic music ranging from noise and free jazz to EAI and music concrete. The inaugural event was held at The Viaduct Theater in Chicago from August 19-22. Comprised of five shows in four days, the 2010 edition hosted 105 performances. Some of the most cutting edge sound artists and experimental musicians from Australia, Belgium, Canada, Japan, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Switzerland, The United Kingdom and the US were united under one roof.
Neon Marshmallow is back for a second summer with a few small changes…
This year the festival will be held from June 10th-12th at Empty Bottle and will feature electronic composer Morton Subotnick, Brooklyn group OneOhTrix Point Never, and many more!
