Stephin Merritt playing Chicago during book tour (Magnetic Fields frontman also speaking in town)

Stephin Merritt, songwriter and frontman of the critically acclaimed Magnetic Fields, will be in Chicago on November 8 for a rare, intimate solo performance at the Old Town School of Folk Music at 7:00pm. For this show, Merritt will be performing selections from his extensive back catalogue in alphabetical order. Tickets are available for purchase HERE.
Merritt is on tour now promoting his first book, 101 Two Letter Words, published through Norton. This is a one-of-a-kind book of poems for Scrabble enthusiasts and their wordy friends, with illustrations by Roz Chast. Merritt can also be seen in conversation with Peter Segal of NPR’s “Wait Wait! Don’t Tell Me,” as part of the Chicago Humanities Festival, on November 7.
