Tortoise & Dent-de-Lion played the Empty Bottle (pics)

Last night (1/24), Tortoise played a sold out hometown show at the Empty Bottle. Dent-de-Lion (aka French musician/artist Aymeric Hainaux) played an interesting opening set which consisted of beat-boxing, harmonic bells, and featured a mini accordion rig. Tortoise, whose label Thrill Jockey will be reissuing the band’s entire catalog this year, came off loud and strong at the intimate Chicago mainstay.
