Wrekmeister Harmonies releasing new LP, playing the Bohemian National Cemetery in June

Wrekmeister Harmonies’ You’ve Always Meant So Much to Me

Wrekmeister Harmonies (aka the project of Chicago’s JR Robinson) is set to release his new album, You’ve Always Meant So Much to Me, on June 11 via Thrill Jockey Records. For the LP, Robinson was joined by Chicago experimental heavyweights Sanford Parker, Bruce Lamont, Jef Whitehead, Mark Solotroff, and many more. You’ve Always Meant So Much to Me is actually one composition spread over two sides of vinyl, and you can take a listen to the b-side at the bottom of this post. The track excerpt is showcased within a time-lapse music video of artist Simon Fowler sketching the intricate cover art.

Robinson and the musicians that performed on the album will be celebrating its release with a special performance at the Bohemian National Cemetery on June 22. Acteurs, the project of Disappears’ Brian Case and White/Light’s Jeremy Lemos, will open the show. The Numero Group’s Rob Sevier will also be DJing throughout the night. Advance tickets for the Chicago show are on sale now. Robinson will also be opening for Come at the Empty Bottle on July 12.
