Ben Gibbard releasing ‘Former Lives,’ touring, playing the Athenaeum Theater w/ Advance Base

As seen on BrooklynVegan, Death Cab For Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard will be releasing his debut solo album, Former Lives, on October 16 via Barsuk. Gibbard hasn't shared any tracks from the album, but he recently dropped a new song, called "Ichiro's Theme," which you can listen to at the bottom of this post.
In support of Former Lives, Ben will be touring North America this fall. Many of those dates feature an opening set from Advance Base, including a November 2 show at the Athenaeum Theater. Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday (8/17) at noon CST. A Death Cab For Cutie presale will be active on Wednesday (8/15) at noon.
Speaking of Advance Base (aka Owen Ashworth), he'll also be playing Lincoln Hall on October 1 with Mark Kozelek (of Sun Kil Moon/Red House Painters)(tickets).
