CAVE & Bitchin’ Bajas schedule shows
CAVE on a flatbed truck in September (more by John Yingling)
Local krautrockers CAVE released their excellent Neverendless LP this past September via Drag City. A recent performance at Chicago Psych Fest 3 aside, the group have been somewhat quiet lately, leaving more time for band member Cooper Crane to focus on his own project Bitchin' Bajas.
Bitchin' Bajas are pretty similar to CAVE, but take a more minimalist approach at motorik rhythm, coming off tranquil rather than rockin'. Check out some song streams at the bottom of this post. Cooper will be headlining The Burlington on March 3rd with support from CATACOMBZ and Bad Drugs. He'll also play a SXSW send-off with Running and Stacian, at the Empty Bottle on the 10th of the month.
Back in September, BV's Bill Pearis said, "Who can we talk to about getting CAVE to tour with fellow Chicagoans Disappears?" Well, we don't have an answer for that either, but Bitchin' Bajas ARE playing a show with the band in Belgium. Hey, it's a step in the right direction.
CAVE are playing the bottle on April 21st, support TBA. Tickets are on sale now and you can also RSVP for FREE admission. UPDATE: Hott Lunch and ONO will open.
