Saturday (10/1), three fun-looking festivals will be taking place in Chicago, two of which will feature free live music. Talk about kicking off the month of October on a good foot.

The Chipotle-sponsored Cultivate Festival will take place in Lincoln Park from 11AM - 7PM. To quote ourselves:

Featuring a Brewers Hall, Chefs Tent, Artisans Hall, Kids Area, and Music Stage, Cultivate has a bit to offer to everyone.

The somewhat-stacked musical lineup will feature: Calexico, Mayer Hawthorne, White Rabbits, The Rural Alberta Advantage, and last but not least The Cave Singers,

Set times for the music portion can be found below.

Design Harvest; an outdoor market for locally built furniture, home accessories, and vintage collectors items will take place both tomorrow and Saturday (10/2) from 11AM - 8PM on Grand Avenue between Damen and Wood Street. Light on the music side, the festival most notably features a performance from Califone tomorrow (who play Hideout on Sunday).

Schubas are throwing their own get together tomorrow called Pig, Swig, and Record Dig. Taking place from 11AM - 4PM right at the venue, this event is exactly what it sounds like. Some participating companies include: Bloodshot Records, Thrill Jockey Records, Saki, Laurie's Planet of Sound, Jay Ryan (aka the bird machine), and more! RSVP HERE.
