Descendents have been touring all year in continued support of last year's great Hypercaffium Spazzinate, which was their first album in 12 years. We caught them in Brooklyn in August and again at Chicago's Riviera Theatre on Saturday (10/7). They played a 38-song set with two encores, including tons of songs from the new album, this year's non-album protest song "Who We Are," and a bunch of classics like "Hope," "Myage," "Suburban Home," "Bikeage," "Everything Sux," "Pervert," "Clean Sheets," and plenty of others. The Chicago show was an awesome double bill with '90s-era emo-pop punk greats The Get Up Kids, who called it a "dream come true" to play with the Descendents.
