Distractions Distortions & Slippery Kingdom Fest both happen this weekend
Distractions Distortions is slated to return for its 2014 edition at Multikulti on Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12. The festival features over 30-bands, including The Runnies, Bring Your Ray Gun, Shiloh, and Le Tour, FREE beer for the early crowd, and a photo booth courtesy of Medium Gallery -- aka BVC photographer Stan Golovchuk. DD will kick off at 7PM each night and will run you $10 per/day at the door; 21+. You'll find the complete lineup and a few song streams at the bottom of this post.

While Distractions Distortions goes down in Noble Square, Logan Square steady The Burlington are hosting what's called the Slippery Kingdom Fest, which hones in on the heavy and off-kilter rather than competing with DD's garage rock-centric event. This one is also on Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12. Day 1, dubbed Acid In The Grass, features brand new Disappears/Ant'lrd side project Cities of the Interior, The Sueves, Bike Cops, and more. Day 2, In Another Land, has Wizard Castle, Cokegoat, Creepy Band, and more. Each night will run you $8 at the door, or you can grab advance tickets + a festival t-shirt for $10. And don't forget, the annual CHIRP Record Fair is also on Saturday, April 12 (daytime). Lots to do this weekend.
