Foxygen playing an in-store at Saki w/ Angel Olsen before Metro w/ Of Montreal
Foxygen @ Public Assembly during BV-CMJ 2012 (more by Dominick Mastrangelo)
While they're in town to play Metro with Of Montreal on December 9, Foxygen will also be playing a 3PM in-store at Saki with support from Chicago songstress Angel Olsen. As always, in-stores at Saki are free and open to all ages.
Foxygen came together while core members Sam France and Jonathan Rado were still in high school. France and Rado disbanded when they went to college but reunited in 2009, spending the summer going through dozens of their original recordings to pick their favorite songs. Many have compared the band to the Rolling Stones, with lead singer Sam France's voice sharing a strong likeness to Mick Jagger's. Like the Brian Jonestown Massacre (another favorite of theirs), they draw their influences from the rock and roll icons of the 60s and 70s. But where BJM have experimented more and more with each release, Foxgen seems to have played it safe with their newest effort, Take The Kids Off Broadway. All the same, take a listen to the LP in its entirety at the bottom of this post.
All known Foxygen dates and a stream of Take The Kids Off Broadway are below...
