Gorillaz's star-studded new album, Humanz, is due out later this month but, as Damon Albarn told UK mag Q in a new cover story, there were a few stars who turned him down, including Sade, Morrissey and Dionne Warwick. We'll just have to settle for Grace Jones, Mavis Staples, Danny Brown, De La Soul, Pusha T, Kali Uchis, Kelela, Vince Staples, Jehnny Beth from Savages, D.R.A.M., Popcaan, Jamie Principle, Kilo Kish, Anthony Hamilton, Peven Everett, Zebra Katz, Carly Simon, Rag’n’ Bone Man, RAY BLK, Imani Vonshà and Brandon Markell Holmes this time around.

Elsewhere in the Q feature, it was offhandly revealed that there is a Chicago edition of Gorillaz's "Demon Dayz" festival happening this year. Details are scant, but Gorillaz are also doing a "Demon Dayz" festival at Dreamland amusement park in Margate, UK on June 10 that will reportedly feature a Humanz performance with all of the album's guests. The rest of the UK lineup is still TBA but it is set to stream live on RedBull.TV. Flyer for the UK edition is below.

Other nuggets gleaned from the article: There is a 10-episode Gorillaz TV show in the works, and Albarn is also working on the long-awaited second The Good, The Bad and The Queen album.

No word on a NYC show still, but the "immersive, high-fidelity experience" that is "Gorillaz Spirit House" will be in Brooklyn later this month.
