Permanent Records in-between sets @ The Beets / Brown Brogues In-store (more)

Chicago's (and now LA's too..) Permanent Records are celebrating their 5th anniversary as an establishment with a three-part celebration at Hideout and Empty Bottle. The predominantly vinyl shop has yielded some great finds for me, as well as presenting 100% FREE in-stores just about every single week.

Not only are they one of the best record shops in town, but they also operate a small-time label under the same name. They've done over 25 separate releases so far from: Cave, Cheveu, Purling Hiss, Black Math, Puffy Areolas, and MORE.

For France's garage rock band Cheveau (Permanent Records' seventh label release), the show is part of a September tour that began in Brooklyn on 9/8 with Australia's Royal Headache who are also on a US tour with Bed Wettin' Bad Boys around an appearance at Gonerfest, and who play the 9/17 show at Hideout.

There's also a 5PM in-store on the 15th with Vivian Girls, and a 5PM in-store on the 17th with Grimble Grumble and Bed Wettin Bad Boys.

The Reader also points out that, "[Lance] Barresi and [Liz] Tooley (the co-owning couple) will be in town throwing an "unofficial" party-slash-cookout in and around the store next weekend."

To be completely cheesy, keep Permanent permanent by showing your support!
