Yuppies prepping debut LP, playing The Observatory & Permanent Records on fall tour (song streams, dates)

Yuppies -- Yuppies LP

Omaha, NE outfit Yuppies and gearing up for the release of their debut self-titled LP, which is due out on September 15 via Parquet Courts main man Andrew Savage's Dull Tools label. Much like Parquet Courts, Yuppies craft fantastically discordant indie rock. You take a listen to "Hitchin A Ride," "What's That?," and "A Ride" from the LP at the bottom of this post. On "Hitchin A Ride," frontman Jack Begley firmly shouts -- presumably at the driver -- "Sir just take me to a place where the sun shines so I can feel some light" over a tense guitar riff.

Yuppies will be embarking on a fall U.S. tour in support of their forthcoming LP. That tour includes a pair of Chicago shows on October 10: a performance at The Observatory and a 6PM in-store at Permanent Records. Stay tuned for more information on their Observatory show.
